The challenge

An author's site has to carry two things at once: the literary voice, and the practical business of selling a book. The brief was a presence that picks up the tone of the writing, presents „Der Findling“ with its publisher details, ISBN and ways to order, keeps reading dates easy to maintain, and gives the writing workshop a place of its own.

Our solution

We built a Next.js site with a literary editorial design: a serif face for the prose, condensed display type for structure, and a continuous rule motif as the break between them. The book is staged as a 3D object that opens as you scroll, flanked by publisher details, the ISBN and direct routes to the publisher, local bookshops and online retailers. Dates, press and the writing workshop each have their own section, each with a direct way to get in touch.

The results

• The book presented with every way to order it in one place
• Reading dates and press quotes maintainable without a rebuild
• The writing workshop visible as an offer in its own right
• A literary presence of its own, not a publisher's template page
• Structured data for both the person and the book
